What You Should Know before Applying
If you want to apply for a visa, please read the following points carefully to avoid any probable case of denial.
To apply for all types of visas, your passport should have at least six months of validity, beyond your actual travel date. Obviously, your application will not be processed, if your passport is expiring in less than 6 months.
The Iranian visa sticker displays some information including the validity of visa. Failure to travel to Iran during the validity of visa will prevent you from entering Iran and you will need to re-apply for a visa.
Based on mutual agreement within the framework of international rules and regulations, citizens of some countries are exempt from applying for a visa to enter Iran. They include the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Georgia, Armenia, Venezuela, Egypt and Malaysia.
Non-eligible countries for on-arrival visa
Countries whose Nationals CANNOT Apply for Iran Visa on Arrival: Iraq, Colombia, Jordan, Somalia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. American, British and Canadian passport holders also cannot get a visa on arrival.
